Your DIY Wedding Details are Worthless!

Why are you spending all these hours on DIY wedding details if you aren’t doing anything to remember it? I remember spending hours and hours creating our favors, invitations, all of it. We got pretty goofy by the end of the night. Sure, I have a few favors left, a copy of our invitation somewhere, but the memory of the fun with friends is waning.

In fact, I made the crazy decision to make my own wedding cake. Believe me, that will be the topic of another blog post. But here’s the truly dumb part – I didn’t get behind-the-scenes video of any of it! Two days before the wedding, as one of my bridesmaids and I struggled to remain sane while decorating a behemoth cake for 250 people, we accidentally dropped some of it on the floor. With a little alcohol enhancement a food fight may or may not have ensued. Someone tell me that wouldn’t have been AWESOME on video???? As a matter of fact, I didn’t even remember it until a few weeks ago!

These moments with your family and friends are part of the wedding planning. These moments are part of their gift to you. While you may keep a souvenir from the wedding in the form a chalkboard sign, it’s those minutes of laughter that are the real treasure.
