10 Moments I Regret Not Getting on Video from my Wedding
Mike and I had a slow-motion whirlwind romance. I should have known from the start. Our first date turned from a simply hockey game into a twelve hour day that we simply never wanted to end. We drove around metro-Detroit hitting venue after venue until the evening finally ended. But we were from such different backgrounds, that we actually bet friends a case of beer we would never get married.
Best bet I ever lost
Knowing we were so different, Mike took his sweet old time getting to the proposal. Two and a half years, to be exact. Not wanting to wait another minute to be married, I put our engagement on overdrive. Read all the details about how I started our marriage on a lie.
Unlike many women, I hadn’t been dreaming of my wedding day since the age of 5. I had no grand vision. Backyard barbeque would have been fine by me. Luckily, my man declared, “We will have a huge party on our meager budget. I’ll plan it. You make it happen.”
Our priorities were the killer bar band that would refuse to play any dumb wedding songs, and the top shelf liquor. Between the band, the booze, and our huge guest list, there went most of our wedding budget. So DIY it was.
Despite the strict budget, our wedding was an extravaganza to say the least. Yet, there was one crucial detail that was completely left out — we didn’t have a wedding video.
Sure, our guests took pictures of our vows and cake-cutting, but I realized too late that it was the wedding planning details and candid reception moments that actually meant the most to me.
Thinking back now, here are the 10 priceless moments from our wedding that I wish I had caught on video. Each week, I’ll walk you through how to choose your own most special moment, and how to film it
