Wedding Moments I Missed | The Dress Shopping
Wedding planning was an amazing journey. We got engaged in September and then we were off to the races, with a speedy engagement. In October I had a bridal shower, engagement party, and dress shopping with the bridesmaids – in another state. Seems like the perfect time catch lots of wedding moments on video, right? Oops.
Mr. Storymix and I lived in Michigan; I had one bridesmaid there, 3 in New York, and one in California. Somehow everyone made the trek to New York for the parties, so we decided that would be a good time to look at dresses.
The bridesmaids were all different shapes and sizes, so getting everyone to agree on a dress was a reality show in itself! Each one privately pulled me aside to say that the dress I had selected either didn’t look good on them or made someone else look like a hippo.
I gave in. I picked the color and told everyone to pick a dress that made them happy.
The other reason I wanted to go dress shopping was to try on gowns for myself. I knew I would be making my own DIY wedding dress, but didn’t want to miss out on that moment of trying on gowns. So, yes, I did the spin, but no, I didn’t get it on video. Finding that perfect dress only happens once. Here’s another tutorial I wrote about how to film your own Say Yes to the Dress.
Bonus of taking a video: In 20 years, you’ll be surprised by what was in style at the time!
Don’t miss out on their wedding moments to capture! What wedding moments are most important to you? I’m happy to film a tutorial to help you record all those special moments.
