Geeky Wedding Ideas
Numerous brides have had their Weddings in Tagaytay and this time, it’s your turn to say your vows. The theme can be a little tricky, but if both you and your partner are self-confessed geeks then look no further for that is the perfect theme for you. After all, a wedding is a celebration of which the two of you are, not just your union. Confused by the hundreds of ideas floating around on the internet? This guide is sure to help give you some peace of mind.
Invitation
Your guests may not have received a Hogwarts letter at age 12, but how about an invitation inspired by this letter? You can even include house stickers and have them wear it during the wedding. What will they choose? The wise Ravenclaw? Brave Gryffindor? Kind Hufflepuff? Cunning Slytherin?
If you’ve always dreamed of being on the cover of a comic book, now’s your chance! Let the adventure of your love story be illustrated with the ending to be found at the location: the union of two souls.

Clothes
When it comes to geekdom, there is no lack of ideas or clothing to be worn for the ceremony. A Whovian can wear an imitation of Amy Pond’s or Donna Noble’s dress. If you’re more into the Light side, Padme’s beautiful gown is perfect. For something a little more subtle, Celebrate your fandom down to your footwear with comic covered heels or a custom made pair. As for the headgear, you can probably say goodbye to that veil and get ready to don Arwen’s gorgeous crown. As for your gorgeous lady attendants, they can have flowers made from old comic books (not the rare ones!) for their bouquets.
Men, prepare to be superheroes today. Instead of a plain, solid shirt underneath your dress shirt, don a colored tee with the symbol of your favorite hero on your chest. If you’re torn between two heroes, worry not and wear the other on your socks.
Now the clothing may be temporary, but the rings are forever. Simple rings with an engraved “I love you” for the lady and “I Know” for the man are great for the Han Solo and Leia Organa o
this planet. Instead of having a plain gold band, have a triforce diamond setting on your rings to show your love not just for one another, but for the “Legends of Zelda” game as well. Another clever idea is to have the ring bearer present your rings not on a pillow, but inside a poke ball or on top of a Playstation controller.
Ceremony
Read your vows in front of the TARDIS and prepare your own vows. These words should come from the heart and for sure they are to contain little statements which only the two of you can understand, along with allusions to your fandoms.
If you can, try renting a small museum for the reception. Upon entering the reception, the newly wedded couple are usually welcomed with a rain of rice or a shower of petals. Do something a little different with a lightsaber canopy or a sword canopy. If you can, try renting a small museum for the reception.
Cake
Your cake topper should be anything but ordinary. An adorable option is to have your two favorite characters on top or an edible 8-bit version of them. For the cake itself, have a compromise with your mother-in-laws and have a half of the cake the traditional, flowery wedding cake style and the other, an all-out fan fest with fondant decors and insane colors. If you have multiple fandoms, just remember there are multiple layers on a wedding cake—decorate each one for each fandom. Have the top decorated like a minecraft game, the second reminiscent of Firefly, the third bringing you to the dark city of Gotham and finally, the bottom layer in the shape of Captain Kirk’s Enterprise.
Giveaways
Believe it or not, a calculator is actually a brilliant idea for a wedding favor. A calculator by itself is geeky, but one with a Superman design? Awesome! Your friends and family will definitely want to keep theirs in their pocket at all times.
If edibles are more of your thing, cookies are the way to go. No, not those plain, round cookies but sugar cookies in the shape of your favorite characters. Are you a Hunger games fan? Then get ready to munch on a Mockingjay. Star Trek? The Vulcan salute is yours for the taking. You can also have a decorating station, allowing your guests to decorate their cookies anyway they want it. Who knows, Snorlax just might turn green! In addition, you can even hand out cookie cutters in the shape of those cookies.
Be proud to be a geek; say it out, say it loud! Remember, geeks are some of the best people on earth and two geeks are always better than one.
