How to Plan a Torture-Free Bridal Shower
Looking for creative activities to make sure your guests have a good time at your bridal shower? Check out these truly entertaining games for your shower!
Let’s be real here. Most bridal showers are… well… boring. I mean, how embarrassing is it to sit in front of a group of people, some of whom are strangers, and open gifts. And if it’s a big family, it’s a lot of gifts, and a lot of time.
Stephanie’s shower was different. Her sister Mandy (MOH), pictured above, was fixated on planning a shower that didn’t bore everyone to tears.
1- The painful icebreakers
So you get invited to your coworker’s shower, and get seated with a bunch of family who already know each other. Boring, right? They’re talking about the cute grandbaby, and you’re dying for a mimosa.
Mandy’s got you covered. She had a super fun game (not cheesy) to help everyone at the table get to know each other.

This game was a fun way to learn things about the people at the table, and the winner got to keep the yummy centerpiece.
2- Recipe break
Stephanie had a LOT of guests at her shower, so everyone knew the gift opening would take a while. Mandy asked everyone to bring a recipe. To lighten the pace, every now and then, Stephanie picked a recipe from the basket and the person won a little chocolate-covered gift.
3- Bridal shower bingo
This was my favorite. There were about 50 gifts to be opened. Even people who couldn’t make it sent gifts. So Mandy gave everyone bridal shower bingo cards. You filled in the card with gifts you guessed they received. If you got five in a row, you won bingo and Stephanie’s cousin gave you some homemade chocolate goodies. There was a huge basket of yummy wrapped chocolate goodies, so there was no limit to the bingo calls.
Of course everyone had seen her registry, so there were the standard sheets and towels on there, but it was fun to mix it up and see some pottery and other random gifts thrown in as well.
This was everyone’s favorite part of the shower. You actually looked forward to seeing gifts opened!
