Tell us what part of your wedding planning you are most proud of.
We planned to set up completely the night before and be able to relax the day of. My husband and I organized each table into boxes so set-up was very easy and quick. Because of all the detailed planning and organization in advance, we were really able to relax and have a blast throughout the whole weekend!
Where did you get married?
We got married at our church in Louisville, KY and our reception was in the Stark’s Building in downtown Louisville.
Tell us why using the WeddingMix app was appealing for your big day?
Even though we chose to have a formal wedding, we were still on a definite budget for the big day. We wanted a way to capture video without having to spend such a huge chunk of our budget on a professional videographer.
What special moments from your wedding do you want to remember forever?
Our first dance was magical, our cake cutting adorable, and Hora Loca (crazy hour of dancing) was a blast!
How did WeddingMix help capture those moments?
It allowed us to capture video we wouldn’t have gotten otherwise form other people’s points of view

Two things we did that helped us achieve the wedding of our dreams:
1. For us, we wanted more than a couple hours of fun. We wanted a weekend event! We got creative with ways to achieve this without breaking our budget – some of the things we did were start the weekend early by planning a “welcome dinner” on Thursday evening for all family and out of town guests and having a “post-wedding brunch” the morning after, giving us four straight days with all our out of town guests!Ā
2. My husband and I talked about what was most important to us about our day – great food? Drunken party? Classy reception or something more casual? We both talked about what our dream day would be like and kept reminding ourselves of that throughout the process – we chose an elegant formal wedding but didn’t give into the budget that goes with that – we worked hard to make sure that it looked classy, but not over the top. The most important thing to us was that everyone had a blast so we decided to hire a DJ who was familiar with the type of music we like – one of the best decisions we made! We also had a wedding hotel and hospitality suite – that added a lot to the feel of a whole “weekend” event instead of just a few hours!
