Storymix Bride Becca: Snow in Love
Today we bring you one of our Storymix Bridal Bloggers, Becca, who is using Storymix for her May, 2013 wedding!
Hi everyone!!!
My name is Becca, and I’m new to blogging, so bear with me! I am so happy that my fiancé, Matt, and I won a Storymix video for our wedding, and happy to be a new Storymix Blogger Bride!
My fiancé and I fell in love very quickly. On Jan 28, 2011, less than a month after we started dating, he whispered in my ear “I love you.” I knew this was how real love was supposed to feel! I love how romantic, kind, funny, respectful and thoughtful he is! I was dumbfound that he never had a relationship before me. I love him so much, and am proud to be his everything!
2011 brought us much joy: We fell in love, I moved into his house, and we turned it into “our home.” On the 18th of every month, we celebrated our love, and each month he surprised me somehow. They varied from singing a romantic song for me (that he wrote!), a romantic dinner out, a specially cooked meal, poems, little love notes, taking salsa dancing lessons, seeing Cirque du Soleil, heart shaped balloons, and so much more. Every month we’d get the exact amount of roses for how many months we’d been together.
December 18, 2011 was our one year anniversary and Matt planned a whole day for us. We left the house at 11am and he surprised me by taking me ice skating at Campus Martius in Detroit (I had always wanted to do that!) Each destination was a surprise, so these next places has special meaning to us: Bennihanna, for their yummy fried rice. MJR movie theatre to see The Muppets, a super cute movie especially with the proposal at the end! Carrabbas for their yummy Scotty Thompson Bruschetta (if you’ve never had it – order it!!!! so good), and then we went to Antonio’s for a yummy gnocchi dinner. Then we quickly stopped at my old apartment to reenact our first kiss in front of the door, and we ran off laughing. Then we headed to Bravos for their yummy dessert, and finally returned home after a wonderful night.
When we arrived home, Matt told me he lost the house key, so we had to go in through the garage. When I came in the door, there were pictures of us all over the walls, and roses everywhere! I started to cry and hugged him and just held onto him. His wonderful mother and sister had done all that work while were out! As I looked around at the pictures, Matt came up behind me and said, “Rebecca…” I said, “Yes, Matt….” As he started to bend down on one knee, I started to cry even more. I was in such shock and awe that I covered my eyes for a moment. I don’t even recall half the things he said. I just knew he said you have made me the happiest man in the world while holding a beautiful box in his hand. He opened it and grabbed my hand and said “Will you marry me?” and I, of course, said “YES” crying even more from joy and happiness. We hugged and then popped open the champagne!
Matthew is truly a blessing and such a unique man! It still amazes me how much time and thought he put behind the day. He even custom made my beautiful ring so that I will always be his snowflake princess! It has 3 princess cut diamonds and holding those up on both sides are 3 snowflakes, the ring has curves and 6 falling diamonds on the sides. The double wedding band that he also created is simply beautiful, I cried in the store when I saw it!
Now we are planning our wedding and we are sooo excited about it! We are getting married May 4th, 2013. The theme is unique, just like us! It will be a “frosted spring” wedding: a combination of snowflakes and spring flowers! We have booked our wedding at this amazing place (Nazareth Hall) and the room is old and so beautiful. We have a really awesome DJ, a fresh and out-of-the-box photographer, and right now we’re working on a design with the jewelers that made my ring for a unique snowflake ring for Matt! Both he and I are working our butts off doing the workout program INSANITY (omg the hardest workout of your LIFE!) to get in the best shapes of our lives for the big day, and for my dream honeymoon in the city of love, PARIS! I can hardly wait! So far I have lost 35 lbs!!! So the next big thing on my list is to try on wedding dresses!
We’re excited to use Storymix because it’s an awesome new way to incorporate all of our friends and family into seeing our wedding along with their perspective. I will have information on the iPhone app in the invitation, so anyone is welcome to use it. Also in the front of the church doors I will have a poster so everyone is reminded and welcome to participate all day with it! I’m most looking forward to seeing that exact moment on my fiance’s face as I come down the aisle…yes you can capture it in pictures but to see it play anytime I’d like will be a memory I will cherish forever!
Until next time…
