Beautiful Wedding in Wilmington

Amanda and her husband tied the knot with a gorgeous wedding celebration in Wilmington! Despite some rainy weather, their day was a magical experience!

1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

I’m most proud that my husband was involved in the entire process. He came up with some of the best details of our wedding. He was extremely supportive and wanted to make sure that I made the wedding of my dreams…even down to walking in the rain to our floral shop so that he could make sure vases were delivered on time after getting a flat tire on his way there! We were able to plan our wedding while juggling my last year of law school, starting a new career and job, and buying a house. We definitely feel a sense of accomplishment.

2. Where did you get married?

We got married in Wilmington, Delaware. Our ceremony was supposed to be held in Rockford Park, which is a historic state park, right in front of the brick water tower. It ended up raining the ENTIRE day, so we had our ceremony and our reception at Cranston Heights Fire Company. Although the weather forecast the week before the wedding caused some panic, the day ended up being absolutely perfect– just like everyone said it would. A bonus is that we got some super cute pictures of us standing in the rain with umbrellas! Plus, don’t you know rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck? 🙂

3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?

It was our goal to keep our budget low so that we could save for our dream house. I wanted a wedding video, but was not thrilled with the price considering we already booked an incredible photographer and a photo booth.

The WeddingMix package with multiple cameras appealed to me so that we could have our wedding ceremony shot from multiple angles. My mom, my mother-in-law, and my friend Sam all captured the entire ceremony from three different angles. Sam ended up recording the bridal party’s entrance, the speeches, and all of the dances. Every special moment was captured on video.

Having Wedding Mix is also perfect for all of the moments and events that occur besides the big day. I uploaded pictures and videos from the bachelorette party, my bridal shower, the rehearsal dinner, and pictures of girls getting ready the morning of the wedding before the photographer arrived. Plus, I had loads of fun interviewing guests at the rehearsal dinner and the reception.

Lastly, I liked the idea of intimate videos– I recorded a message for my hubby the morning of, and he recorded a video for me. My sister also recorded a surprise clip the morning of the wedding, and it brought me to tears! These are moments that you will not likely get by hiring a traditional videographer.

4. What special moments from your wedding do you want to remember forever?

My main goal was to have the entire ceremony captured. Besides that, I’ll always want to remember how much fun everyone had at the reception. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our marriage with our friends and family- including dancing, silly photo booth poses, and many, many, many trips to the bar.
