Real Advice From the Beautiful Couple!
1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?
Our day was a true reflection of us! My bride is a fairly formal, traditional person, while I’m more of a barefoot-on-the-beach type. We managed to meet in the middle and have a day that we were both excited about and very proud of.
Our evening art gallery wedding had delicious food truck catering, four different cakes because we couldn’t pick just one, and most importantly we kept it small enough (80 guests) to enjoy the company of all of our loved ones without spreading ourselves too thin. Everyone kept telling us (and is still telling us) how great all of our friends and family are – it was amazing to have all of our favorite people together in the same place!
2. Where did you get married?
We found a unique spot in Sausalito, which is a gorgeous small town just across the golden gate bridge from downtown SF. Studio 333 is an art gallery and event space, and prides itself on being a turnkey venue without tying you down with extra fees or requirements. I planned the whole wedding on my own, and they smoothly filled in whenever help was needed. One example: we ran out of beer late in the evening and the staff pulled some from their own stock – I didn’t even know about it until we settled the bill, and they charged us regular retail prices!
We had the ceremony in the back courtyard. When that was done, the food truck pulled in to begin catering while people enjoyed the banquet room, dance floor, open bar and pool table.
3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?
We paid for everything ourselves, so we were very aware of the bottom line. While some things were worth splurging on, we had trouble justifying the price for a videographer – but wanted to have some video keepsakes from the day. WeddingMix seemed like the perfect solution.
4. What special moments from your wedding do you want to remember forever?
Our best man and maid of honor killed it with their toasts! They gave the best wedding speeches I’ve ever heard. We all laughed and cried and truly celebrated together during those moments.
