1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

There were two things that were very important to us as we were planning our wedding and I’m very proud that we were able to accomplish both. First, we wanted the real reason behind all the planning — our marriage and our life together after the knot was tied — to be the main focus rather than obsessing about every tiny detail for this one (albeit very important) day. Second was that we wanted our family and friends to have a good time.

2. Where did you get married?

The Golf Club of California in Fallbrook, California. We loved the gorgeous grounds and beautiful architecture that is reminiscent of the California missions. We also loved that it is all-inclusive, which made planning a wedding from out of state so much easier.

3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?

We liked the idea of having video of our wedding day, but we couldn’t justify spending a huge amount on something that we knew we realistically would probably watch only a handful of times. We also liked the idea of capturing pictures and videos from the unique (and sometimes very funny) perspective of our guests.

4. What special moments from your wedding do you want to remember forever?

There were so many special moments, but we especially want to remember our ceremony and our vows, including the song “God Bless the Broken Road” that our friend performed during the sand ceremony. Our first dance was also a lot of fun. We hadn’t told very many people that we had taken dance lessons, so it was nice to be able to surprise everyone.

5. How did WeddingMix help capture those moments?

It made it very easy for our guests to quickly share their photos and videos with us and allowed us to see a lot of moments we otherwise would have missed.

6. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?

Tip #1 is to limit the guest list. This was by far the hardest thing to do, but the size of your guest list has the biggest influence on so many other costs. Tip #2 is focus on the elements that are most meaningful to you and skip everything else. All those little details add up VERY quickly . If you don’t think you’ll remember a particular detail 10 years from now, skip doing it.
