Classic Wedding in Detroit, MI- Wedding Highlight Reel Video

Clare and Scott spent their special day with close friends and family (who joined them for the chicken dance)! Their stunning wedding allowed them to incorporate meaningful traditions and values which they want to carry on as a family. Checkout their beautiful Detroit wedding video below!

1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

We are most proud of how we were able to incorporate traditions that were meaningful to both of our families, along with elements that spoke to our values as a new family as part of our wedding celebration. Family is incredibly important to us, and we made sure to involve all of our family members throughout the day: our parents delivered toasts and blessings, and our siblings all played various roles as ushers, readers, singers, and even emcee.

2. Where did you get married?

We got married at Clare’s childhood church Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Lake Orion, MI, and our reception was held at the Colony Club in Detroit, MI.

3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?

Our friends Steph and Josh used WeddingMix to capture their wedding and we just loved the concept and the final product. We had a lot of fun taking videos and pictures in the WeddingMix app during their wedding, and thought our guests would have fun, too.

4. What special moments from your wedding do you want to remember forever?

We had so many special moments on our wedding day. However, we would especially like to remember our vows, being introduced as husband and wife on the balcony at the reception, our first dances (as husband and wife, bride and father-of-the-bride, groom and mother-of-the-groom/groom’s family, and all the guests joining us for the Chicken Dance), blessings and toasts from our parents and attendants, confetti popping to celebrate the New Year, and our guests having a great time!

5. How did WeddingMix help capture those moments?

Having our guests use the WeddingMix cameras and app allowed us to collect so many candid moments and get to see our wedding day from different angles. In addition to the major events, it was amazing to see what else our guests had captured. Because we have access to all that content in addition to the professionally edited video from WeddingMix, we are able to go back and relive those memories whenever we want.

6. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?

We decided not to hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator. Instead, we chose a photographer that would keep us on schedule, and we asked friends and family to help us with different tasks throughout the day. It gave us greater peace of mind knowing that people we trust were taking care of the things that mattered to us most, and as an added bonus, we will always remember those loved ones as having a role in our special day.
