Real advice from the Bride and Groom:
1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?
We had a small civil ceremony in 2015 before going overseas for two years. We planned our affirmation of vows and this wedding celebration from overseas, but still managed to focus on important details. We incorporated elements from our civil ceremony including photos, our cake topper and selections from our 2015 vows. We had a dear friend handle the calligraphy which warmed our hearts knowing that pieces were made with love. During our ceremony we wrote reflections rather than vows to share with our loved ones more of our story and how we have grown as a couple in two years. We also asked our guests to take a vow with us that focused on loving and supporting one another. Our venue and décor were elegant but relaxed and at the end of the day, we told our love story and had a phenomenal party.
2.Where did you get married?
Our ceremony was in The First Church of Albany. This is the oldest church in Albany, NY and has beautiful history. My parents were married in the same church in 1981.
3.Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?
WeddingMix was appealing because our budget was becoming tight with other wedding elements, but we still wanted to capture moments that we would not see. Looking at what some of our friends captured fills us with happiness and I love that we can relive this beautiful day through the videos.
4.What were the most important moments that WeddingMix was able to capture on your special day?
Our ceremony, first dances and toasts. The toasts that were shared with us were so beautiful and our family members and friends put a great deal of time into them. Knowing that we can hear their words in the future is wonderful.
6.What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?
Prioritize and remember that at the end of the day, your wedding is about your beautiful story. Share that with your guests.
