Advice from the bride!
1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?
I planned the entire wedding on my own and was able to create an excel grid to track all of the wedding items and budgeting. We also booked all our vendors 10 months in advance, so we didn’t have to worry about it being last minute.
2. Where did you get married?
We were married at Ijams Nature Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?
It was affordable and we had several friends use it before, and they let us know that it was nice to see guests perspective.
4. What were the most important moments that WeddingMix was able to capture on your special day?
Guests were able to capture our own vows, our first dance together, father daughter dance, mother son dance, and in general guests just having a great time during the reception.
5. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?
I created an excel sheet and put what I budgeted for, what I actually spent, and then has an auto sum created that I would enter into when I made a payment. This helped me stay super organized. I think the best advice I could give is list out all you want and then prioritize what is a must have at your wedding and what you’d be okay with if it had to be cut.
Make a calendar of payments for vendors. Also know that about 30% of people you invite won’t be able to make it, and even some that rsvp yes will not come, so take that into account when budgeting for catering and rentals.
