Advice from the bride!
1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?
We’re very proud of the fact that because of the extensive planning we did, everything ran smoothly. For a few instances where things didn’t go to plan, the planning we had done meant we could cover it without any distraction.
We planned a wedding that would have a very personal, intimate ceremony and a fun party for the reception to celebrate. Everything from the flowers to the alter to the vows right up to the live 6-piece band and LED dance floor gave us exactly what we wanted.
2. Where did you get married?
Caversham House in the Swan Valley, Western Australia
3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?
We elected not to have a videographer. We had a photographer to capture the day but we wanted footage from our guests perspective to remind us of the amazing day that was a celebration of our love.
We carefully hand picked all of the people we wanted to be there with us on our day and to have their perspectives was amazing.
4. What were the most important moments that WeddingMix was able to capture on your special day?
The guests arriving and having fun together! Certainly the Bride misses out on this bit. The fun at the pre-dinner drinks the guests attended while we were off having photos was another important moment. And then of course the First Dance and the surprise Flashmob dance as well!
5. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?
Agree on the budget together upfront! Choose what is non-negotiable and what can be compromised on. We decided together right at the beginning of our planning that we would pay for a quality photographer and a live band. We also wanted a sit down meal so the reputation of the venue was important.
This ensured our memories would be intact through photographs and our guests would have the time of their lives with music, dancing and good food. Other tips would be to consider a venue where you have both the ceremony and the reception – because we did this we were able to use the flowers and decorations from the ceremony to dress the reception room for our after party.
