Advice from the bride!

1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

We are both proud of the fact we pulled our dream wedding together in less than three months! We were engaged December 1^st, 2018 and married February 23^rd, 2019. My husband schemed with one of my best girl friends to plan a family photo shoot and catch our engagement on camera! It was the best and most memorable day, and then we were both just so ready to be man and wife and officially start our lives together that the next week we went to this little venue up the road from our home and booked it for February!

Wedding planning was very easy for us, we agreed on basically everything, with the exception I had to add a pop of color to the flowers for my husband! I wanted all pale blues and dusty greens and we added pink and wine flowers to satisfy his need for color and I am so glad we did because it was beautiful!

2. Where did you get married?

We were married at Bullock Springs Manor in Dallas GA. It is a farmhouse that has been converted into a wedding venue. They recently built this beautiful open air barn with an exposed brick wall and it was the exact feel we were looking for.

Very simple and intimate feeling, having a small wedding was very important to us. We really wanted a laid back affair where most of the guest knew each other and felt at ease! Everyone was able to sit back and relax and enjoy the time together.

3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?

Honestly we are just not the type of people who are gonna sit back and watch a wedding video so spending a ton of money on a videographer was out of the question. A friend of mine saw weddingmix on pinterest the week of my wedding and on a whim we downloaded the app to give it a try.

It wasn’t until the week after the wedding I purchased the package in hopes they could pull together a cute little video for us and man, did wedding mix deliver! I was amazed at the quality and the moments that were captured. It was the best last minute decision ever!

4. What were the most important moments that WeddingMix was able to capture on your special day?

So so so many moments! Being able to see moments in the wedding that I had completely missed that other guest were able to capture, such as when the bridal party walked into the ceremony, and that our little ring bearer fell asleep and his beautiful mama had to carry him in, being able to see my daughter as flower girl!

5. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?

Create a wedding journal and write everything down and paste your receipts in it! I have to jot things down to remember! Talk with your spouse about your budget; do not make any decisions without each other being completely on board!

Going with an all-inclusive venue helped us out and using all of their preferred vendors saved us a lot of money! Also being flexible with your date! Many wedding venues will give you a deal if you book a cancelled date or during off peak season. Buying a wedding dress at a sample sale is also another bit of advice I received and was so happy I used.
