After the Wedding | How to Preserve Your Custom Aisle Runner
Today’s post is provided by guest blogger, Cherin Szul, creator of custom aisle runners at Custom Wedding Creations. We all have things we created or purchased for our weddings. Love her tips to repurpose a beautiful memento from your big day!
Now that you’ve walked down the aisle, said your “I Do’s,” and the wedding fun has ended, memories and photographs are really the only remainders of the big day. However, that’s not the case if you purchased a custom aisle runner for your ceremony.
Aisle runners not only pave the path for you, but they can also be a huge decorative element from the simplest of ceremonies to the most luxurious. They can also be repurposed or reused in a variety of ways.
Many people opt to cut out the monogrammed portion of their personalized aisle runner and then frame it to hang within the home. This enables you to display your favorite portion of the aisle runner, usually along with other keepsakes from the wedding nearby.
Some couples choose to make blankets or quilts out of the monogrammed portion or the fabric alone. It’s possible to include other fabrics as well, such as pieces of the wedding gown, heirloom fabrics, etc.
Who says an aisle runner can only be used during the ceremony? Another option is to reuse the runner during the reception by displaying it as a backdrop, on the head table, as another aisle runner leading into the reception, and more.
You can also make the aisle runner a family heirloom. It could be passed on through siblings, generations, friends, etc. with each couple having the runner cut down to the length needed and then monogrammed or just by simply adding their own monogram to the long line of monograms before theirs.
Aisle runners can range from inexpensive to very costly, but since they can be used and reused, no matter what the cost, they can definitely be worth the expense if you know how to use them and what you can do with them.

Thank you for the information. I really like the idea to frame your aisle runners. I think that is a great way to preserve, and display them. I think of it as really getting your moneys worth by also using them as decorations for your home or office. Thanks for the great idea.

Where do you get the picture frame for this? I have been searching for a 3X5 for mine to do this with mine.
