Getting married in the fall but don’t want pumpkin centerpieces? Check out these unique ways to spice up your autumn wedding!
Editor’s Note: Today’s guest post was written by terrific Tennessee wedding planner (and Walt Disney Company alumni) Courtney Hammons of A Magical Affair, who dishes on how choosing vibrant pops of color against refreshingly simple decor can really make a fall wedding memorable!
Greetings from the heart of Music City ~
I am so excited to share with you today a fabulous fall wedding that took place on Old Hickory Lake here in Nashville, TN. What I love more than anything was her upfront approach to color. So often EVERY fall wedding I see or work with is all burnt red, burnt orange, brown and has to have a pumpkin. Well not for Rachel – she wanted there to be bright color for her celebration and she felt strongly that color played a large piece in that puzzle. So we opted for RED – and the poppies and gerber daisies couldn’t of been any prettier!!
Rachel planned every deal of her wedding to be a shabby chic reflection of her and Michael. From window panes listing the names of the bridal party to guests creating an updated rolodex of addresses that they dropped into a monogrammed box. The white chavari chairs allowed the red pops of color to really stand out as the bride gracefully walked arm in arm with her dad.
While the sun was setting over the lake, Rachel and Michael said their I Do’s in front of 150 close family and friends that had traveled from across the country to be a part of their special day. As the ceremony concluded guests were escorted to the tented reception filled with pops of red and blue. And as the Oct night drew to a close, the smell of smores was all that was left. I hope you enjoy the inspiration and remember, although we all LOVE our pumpkin spice lattes, not every fall wedding has to have a pumpkin for a centerpiece.
