Cold Hands, Warm Hearts Snowboard Engagement | Vanessa + Bryan
Despite the snowy setting, WeddingMix couple Vanessa and Bryan’s adorable engagement story could totally melt any heart! I hope this means they’ll include snowboard wedding inspiration into their big day 🙂
It would be hard for Bryan and I to describe how exactly we met. We’d been working together for about one year, attending the same college and taking similar classes, and we also shared in shenanigans with a mutual friend. One thing that is certain is where we began to fall in love.
One day at work, Bryan described to me his passion for snowboarding. I had never tried before, but I was up for a new adventure. He took me to pick out the appropriate gear, then picked me up the next morning and drove us up to Stevens Pass. He spent the whole day patiently, encouragingly teaching me to snowboard. This included holding me up as I was falling down minor hills, and sitting in the snow eating candy for 2 hours as I made my way down the easiest run of the mountain.
After we were done and had enough, we found ourselves snowed in and unable to make it back into town. We bunked at a friend’s cabin, or at least we intended to, but instead we stayed up all night talking, sharing stories, and discovering the nearly endless list of things we had in common.
Three years later, on December 13, 2013, after building a strong relationship and an even deeper friendship, Bryan drove us up to the mountain for a snowboarding trip to celebrate my birthday. After the day was over, we returned to the beginner’s lift where he taught me to snowboard, and where my love for this amazing man began. He got on one knee, asked me to marry him and I accepted.
We are proud to announce that we will be getting married August 22, 2014. I look forward to continuing our amazing friendship, and years of snowboarding to come!
