Amazon and Etsy are your best friends!
We were engaged for a little over a year and that gave us the time to save and buy stuff here and there for the wedding. Also ask yourself in 20 years am I really going to look back and freak out because I didn’t have a professional photo booth at the reception. You tend to get caught up in the excitement of the wedding and vendors count on that and unfortunately take advantage of it! Make sure its something you really want at your wedding before you buy it!
Consider renting props or decorations for your wedding!
If I did buy decorations I made sure I could use them in my house! I also joined a local wedding library that had discounts for local vendors. I know not everyone will have that resource, but its worth looking into! I also did not have real flowers at my wedding. I had paper flowers made from books found at the free bins in used book stores and I had a metal flower bouquet as mine. I get to keep my bouquet forever! We also chose a local pizza place at our caterer!
Everyone loved the food and it was cheap!
We had beer and wine at the wedding. Because wine never goes bad I would buy a bottle or two of wine every time I bought groceries, so by the time the wedding day came I had plenty of wine and didn’t have a hole in my bank account either.
