Advice from Mandy and Greg!

1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

How easy I made it for myself! I tried to make sure we didn’t leave anything until the last minute. I also stayed true to our vision and didn’t let anyone persuade me otherwise. Most importantly, I made a childhood dream come true. When I was very young, I used to walk around my parents’ yard with my mom and plan my wedding!!!

3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?

We wanted to be able to see the day through our guests eyes. The photographer(s) can’t be everywhere at every second of the night so it was nice to have a second set of photos to look at. We weren’t interested in having the most amazing, professional wedding footage. We wanted a video that we could look back on, remember our big day and how beautiful it was.

5. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?

Do as much of it yourself as you can but not so much that you get stressed!

For example, I bought the flowers for our tables wholesale (Sam’s Club has beautiful hydrangeas!!! They deliver too!) and also bought all of our vases from HomeGoods. We are now using the vases in our new home! Hydrangeas are easy to arrange and so beautiful. If you’re able, buy the alcohol yourselves. We saved a ton of money by buying in bulk it via Total Wine and The Wine Store. We stuck to beer and wine only. We also saved a lot of money by hiring a catering company that did all three: appetizers, dinner, AND cake/dessert!

When it comes to your wedding night, think twice before booking an expensive night in a fancy hotel and/or a fancy getaway car.

We chose to take an Uber home and stay at our apartment the night of our wedding. We put the money we would’ve spent on that towards our honeymoon in Belize!
