1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?
All throughout our planning, I really trusted others who have either had their own wedding or a planned a wedding before. I asked for a lot of suggestions and I think that helped us figure out what we truly wanted. With their help, our day was perfect.
The photographer helped our day run smoothly because she knew the timing of when things needed to happen. The ceremony was perfect and we loved every minute of it. The reception was beautiful and the food they served was outstanding. Our cake looked great and was better than we had ever imagined. Our DJ made sure that our night was unforgettable and super personable. It paid off to trust those who were helping to make our day special because they always had our best interest in mind.
2. Where did you get married?
My husband and I got married in Bay City, Michigan in a beautiful church. It was a perfect day and we were surrounded by so many amazing friends and family members. When the doors opened to the church and I saw my very soon to be husband, it all felt so surreal. The moment we had been planning for for seven months had all come together. I think the best part was walking down the long aisle, seeing so many who cared for both Alex and I, and knowing that we were about to be joined in love and marriage by the grace of God.
3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?
Alex and I had just finished college and were preparing for new jobs and moving to a new state. We tried our best to limit our spending where we could. We wanted to capture our big day on video so we could remember it forever. Typical videographers were rather expensive and did not offer exactly what we wanted. We wanted to have a shorter length video that showcased some of the key events, but not the whole day. WeddingMix was low cost and offered a short highlight film. It was also great to have a video shot in the hands of our guests. We enjoyed watching the film from the eyes of those who attended.
4. What special moments from your wedding do you want to remember forever?
Our ceremony was an extremely special moment. As it says in Ecclesiastes 4:12, “A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” Not only were the two of us joined with God to make us a triple-braided cord, but we were married by Alex’s father and Uncle. Both are Pastors in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod and together they ran our service.
It was so special to be blessed by both of them throughout the ceremony. Hearing the sermon from Alex’s father truly meant a lot. He was there while Alex and I grew to know each other and fall in love and knows our relationship well. We are so happy to have his sermon as a memory that we will never forget, and cherish forever.
5. How did WeddingMix help capture those moments?
WeddingMix helped capture those moments that were special through photos and videos that our guests shot. We have video snippets of the sermon that are just perfect! While we have the written sermon, we did not have the delivery of the sermon and the laughter that filled the church with some of the words that were shared. Those videos are the ones that we have to thank WeddingMix for.
6. What were your top wedding blogs you used in planning your wedding (other than weddingwire & the Knot)?
We did not use any other wedding blogs besides The Knot.
