1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

Logistically, the day ran flawlessly without a single hitch…well, except for the two of us gettin’ hitched! We tried very hard to take care of details, timeline, and choose the right venue and vendors who made our day a breeze. We could just be “in the moment” and soak up every minute! We had privilege to have been a bridesmaid or groomsmen to many amazing weddings, so we had some great inspiration to pull from.

2. Where did you get married?

We got married at Salvatore’s, at 525 W. Arlington in the heart of Lincoln Park. We stumbled on it by accident, it’s only a few blocks from our apartment. It was exactly what we wanted: classic, old-timey Chicago feel that provided an intimate space. Because we hosted a lot of out of town family, it was important to have the ceremony and reception in the one spot. Once you arrived, you could truly relax and celebrate every second!

The Father of the Bride and Best Man speech were crucial! While we accidentally forgot the microphone during our vows, but the fact we have the video of it is priceless. I loved capturing the special time in my bridal suite with my bridesmaids as we got all dolled up for the big day ~ one of my favorite parts of the day!

6. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?

Throw out unrealistic expectations about cost ~ the reality is, Chicago weddings can be expensive. Don’t let money outweigh convenience…for example, we originally planned to use Ubers to get us to our photo locations, but ultimately we chose to hire a limo bus. This was the best money we spent! It was amazing to have pop some bubbles, rock out to our wedding playlist, and spend special time together with our wedding party before we all walked down the aisle. Details that were not as important, we spent the least amount of money on. For example: our guests dined on Salvatore’s signature Tiramisu dessert, and we ceremonially cut a small, beautifully decorated cake from Mariano’s bakery that cost us $22.
