Advice from the bride!
1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?
The part I am most proud of when it comes to our wedding is how quickly we pulled everything off. We got engaged on March 25th 2018 and Married on June 9th 2018!
We are middle school sweet hearts and we’ve both been waiting for this day for a long time! We are also hoping to add our 2nd child into our near future and I couldn’t see myself pregnant doing the worm on the dance floor at our wedding!
2. Where did you get married?
We got married in a reception hall held by The Eagles here in Evansville Indiana. They are an organization that hosts many fundraisers and charities through out the year helping families and organizations in need, so it felt really good to use their hall!
3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?
We were so happy to use wedding mix for our big day because it was affordable and fun! It gave our guests a chance to participate in video taking and catching things with their eye! So when we all look back on the wedding video one day they can get just as excited to see the moments they caught!
4. What were the most important moments that WeddingMix was able to capture on your special day?
The most important moments that was caught on video was a friend Kelci Kosin performing Ave Maria with her very gifted angelic voice as the bridal party walked down the aisle.
When my father and I walked out to my favorite band ever Coldplay’s intro to Paradise! Of course our first kiss as husband and wife! Then when I finally gave in to people asking me to do the worm!
I was so against it at first but towards the end of the night I had a bit of liquid encouragement and the right song playing. Although I could go on and on about how happy I am with all that our guests was able to film using wedding mix these were just a few I will never forget!
5. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?
We planned our whole wedding on a budget! To us our biggest day already happened we had a beautiful, healthy, very sweet baby boy and we give our all to him! We had TONS of help from our families!
As a wedding gift our fathers paid for the kegs. His mom has been waiting a very long time for this day so she helped A LOT with purchasing of decorations and food! She also knew someone who made pork butts on the side who didn’t charge much at all.
My hubby grilled chicken the day before so we were set with pulled pork and pulled chicken for a BBQ grub! We used fake flowers so we could buy a few and set them back each week without breaking the bank!
For our center pieces his step dad actually knew a guy who was chopping down a cedar tree! He of course sanded them and stained them they are so beautiful that we can reuse them again for future events! Mason jars held our flowers that we could again reuse for canning!
We didn’t want a bunch of left over wedding things but stuff we could potentially put to good use as well! We had a dollar dance where people would come up and pin money to our clothes and that actually helped reimburse us for our honey moon!
We didn’t have a cake we had family and friends volunteer to make cookies for a cookie bar! The ideas are limitless it’s really what a person’s priorities are but if I learned anything with the budget is don’t be afraid to ask your family for help they love you and they want to see you happy on your big day!
