Advice from the bride!

1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

My organizational skills, lol. “The Binder” was a term anyone near me started using when talking about the wedding. Kept me super calm and allowed me to enjoy planning process.

2. Where did you get married?

At our friends property. They are custom home builders and were kind enough to open their home to our family and friends for our wedding. It was a spectacular venue with the ceremony in the back yard and the reception in their industrial 6 car garage with glass doors looking onto a beautiful green space.

3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?

I liked the idea of something personalized and it was a much more affordable option than hiring a professional videographer. It allowed me to allocate more of the budget on other areas of my wedding that my guests would enjoy, like food and entertainment, while still coming away with a great wedding video!

4. What were the most important moments that weddingmix was able to capture on your special day?

I loved using the recorder to capture our vows and possibly overlay some in our feature video. I really want a video that captured the emotions of the day, from getting ready, to the ceremony, the amazing dinner and how much fun the band was.

5. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?

Make sure to make a budget BEFORE you start looking at anything (dresses, Pinterest, venues). Decide what’s most important to you both and spend money there. Don’t feel that there is anything you “MUST” do on your day. For example we didn’t do guest favours, but I did put out a basket of Pashmina’s for my guests to use (and keep) as it was a fall wedding. Be reasonable with your DIY plans. If your not a crafty person in your regular life,you probably don’t need the stress of a dozen DIY projects leading up to your big day – even if it is “cheaper”.
