Tell us what part of your wedding planning you are most proud of.

There were so many small details in both the ceremony and the reception. Overall we are most proud of the ceremony because of the embedded Lord of the Rings themes. Our ceremony was outdoors in the woods for a woodland feel with a quartet playing LOTR music. The bride walked down the aisle to In Dreams, one of the most well known pieces of the compositions. The bride also incorporated part of Sam’s speech in her vow which has immense meaning to the couple.

For the reception, we planned a choreographed first dance that although we didn’t work too hard on, we did find that guests absolutely loved it which made us very proud.

Where did you get married?

We were married in Houghton, Michigan. We both went to Michigan Technological University which is where we met and a few years after graduation got engaged.

Tell us why using the WeddingMix app was appealing for your big day?

We really wanted video and the ability to have several cameras and a custom video based on what we saw on your website was really exciting. We originally looked at local videographers and their galleries, however for the price and content in their videos we were disappointed.

Being that it was the UP, there wasn’t many local vendors to choose from so we somehow stumbled upon this alternative method. We liked that we could customize what would be in our wedding video and make it have that homemade feel. We liked that we could spend as much or as little as we wanted without getting stuck to some contract that doesn’t fit us. We also liked that guests could help collect media through the app and add in their perspectives of the event and even some of their congratulation messages!

What special moments from your wedding do you want to remember forever?

Our vows, the ceremony music, first dance, special dances, messages from guests, speeches, the kiss, getting ready in the morning.
