Real Advice From The Bride & Groom!
1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?
The part of my wedding planning I’m most proud of is that I actually pulled it off even though I was really the first of my friends to get married! It was hard flying blind and having no idea what to expect or what was played out or not, but it was also really fun to not have other people’s ideas swirling around my head. I’d only been to three weddings before ours (!!!) so it almost made me feel like the only bride in the world.
2. Where did you get married?
We got married at Allaire State Park in Wall Township, NJ and had our reception on the River Queen, a local paddleboat that sails down the Manasquan River. It was super unique and such a gorgeous day on the water! And of course, the sunset was to die for.
3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?
I was most excited about the idea of getting our guests in on the action! I loved how personal that sounded, and it really did play out to be super unique – a recurring theme of our day. It also was super inexpensive, which is always a plus when planning a wedding!
4. What were the most important moments that WeddingMix was able to capture on your special day?
I actually have a favorite clip. It’s one of my dad, where he starts to say how proud he is of us and how moved he is by our special day, but starts to tear up… I thought that was so sweet, and I’m so grateful it was captured! Theatrics and fancy equipment don’t matter, just the tiny moments that made our day so special.
5. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?
My top wedding budget tip is to DIY as much as possible (within reason, I didn’t do quite as much as I thought I would), and always always ALWAYS check for a promo code before buying anything online. This helped so much with our save the dates and invitations, and even with some of our signage and favors from Etsy.
6. What was your budget?
I believe our wedding ended up costing about $30-35k for about 140 guests.
