1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

I am so proud of my husband and I for pulling off such an amazing weekend for our friends and family. We stuck to our guts on decisions and tried not to be influenced by what other people would do or chose. We also tried to be smart about where we spent our money and how. We planned everything our self with the support of family and bridal party. It was a lot of work but some how we just managed and every month checked to dos off the list. Over the year that we were planning, I was traveling every month (majority of the time to Europe 6 hours ahead of home) and he was working evening shifts. If I was home, we only had 1 or 2 days off a week to see each other. We did a lot of planning via google hangout video chats! It was very difficult but I am just so proud of us for making everything happen and following our heart in each decision. Lastly, one of our proudest moments was making a donation to a national park that was where we got married and also a part of one of our first dates. Instead of favors it was the most rewarding to see how appreciative they were.

4. What were the most important moments that WeddingMix was able to capture on your special day?

Watching back some of the guest videos put into perspective how awesome it is to have these moments captured. You plan for this day for so long but yet you actually miss out on a lot of parts. For example, watching my bridesmaids come down the aisle, or the groomsmen and my husband walk down before we got there. Seeing me come down the aisle with my dad or my first dance with my husband. It was so cool to see that!!! As the bride I never would have been able to since you are always last. Same with the entrances to our reception. Watching our bridal party have so much fun entering was awesome. Really every moment was important. Watching back our ceremony was another, you are so in the moment and forget and it was a gift to watch it back.

5. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?

-Spend the money in the places that matter most to YOU.

-It’s worth it to invest in a good photographer and someone you are comfortable with.

-Limit your guest list. This might sound crazy but it is the easiest way to lower costs. Invite the people that matter most to you and that you see regularly and plan to see for the rest of your life. Does that coworker really have to come? Probably not.
