1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?
Matt and I are most proud of the unique aspects of our wedding. We wanted to have fun with our ceremony and reception, as well as keep it simple but yet add characteristic that represented both of us. We went with Rustic theme with the colors red, white and blue to integrate the part of military where we both had met.
As for the unique parts, we decided to mix up the ceremony a little by using unity wine incorporating our parents, instead of sand or candles.
At the reception we wanted to wow our guests with our first dance, and took dance lessons for our “fun” section, and practiced for a couple months. And by picking out a great band to rock the night out too!
Matt and I also enjoyed the after party at the bowling alley underneath the Hotel we were staying at, where lots of pizza and martinis were consumed (along with multiple games of bowling)!
2. Where did you get married?
Matt and I got married at Tanglewood Hills, Bettendorf, Iowa close to where I (the bride) grew up. The ceremony was at the Chapel, followed by the reception at the Pavillion( 400 m walking distance). The rustic theme played in perfect for this venue tucked away near trees and a pond on the outskirts of the city.
Matt and I met in the military and had guests coming in from all over the United States, as well as Matt’s family coming down from Connecticut. We wanted the guests who were traveling to be able to walk to the reception, as well as incorporate transportation to and from Tanglewood Hills from our designated hotels.
3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?
We wanted to be able to remember the unique parts of our special day and be able to show Matt’s grandparents who were unable to get to Iowa to attend our special day.

4. What special moments from your wedding do you want to remember forever?
The vows and sermon the Pastor gave, it was unique to us since he had done pre-marital counseling with us prior to the ceremony. Our first dance, we wanted it to be remembered. And the 80’s rock band we had play at the reception.
5. How did WeddingMix help capture those moments?
I had a dear friend of mine I could trust capture those special requests I had (ie. The ceremony, our first dance). Other family and friends were able to capture moments throughout the night and send them through the app. Matt and I are thankful to have found WeddingMix to help us capture our special day!
