Advice from the bride!
1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?
I am proud that I stayed on task. The two things that allowed me to do that was “The Knot” checklist, and my friend Holly who acted as my wedding planner. By using these two resources I felt like I was totally prepared for our wedding, and didn’t feel stressed out about any of the little details the day of.
2. Where did you get married?
Lake Mary, CA ( organized through Sugar Bowl Resort in Truckee, CA)
3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?
It was great to have family and friends shoot footage, because they could catch those spontaneous moments a videographer may not. I loved having the ability to catch every part of the day.
4. What were the most important moments that WeddingMix was able to capture on your special day?
By having wedding mix it allowed us to see how the day evolved. We woke up that morning and it felt like the world was on fire. The smoke from the California fires has settled in on our little town, and we didn’t know if we were going to be able to keep our wedding outside. We got footage of that morning and how dismal it looked.
Then you see footage through out the day, and as the winds picked up to 55 mph we were able to see how the setting changed and the skies cleared just in time for the ceremony. It was really neat to see both the bad and the good.
5. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?
Try to bargain. Weddings are always more expensive than you think they will be. Even with trying to do it simply. Decide what it the most important to you and spend the most on that. Use a spreadsheet, I used google docs. This allowed me to determine who paid for what, track how we were doing on our budget and determine if we needed to cut things out to stay within our budget.
