What wedding planning details are you most proud of?

We really wanted this day to be about us and our union after 15 years of dating. We wanted little pieces of us to show in the details, from the handpicked and potted succulents we gave as favors to the music selection for our ceremony and first dances, everything included a little piece of us.

There were three main things we focused on to create our dream wedding on our budget; 1) location 2) food and drinks and 3) our vows. We picked this venue because it was so reasonably priced and we saw so much potential to add our own style and flair.

The food was carefully selected to represent our Mexican/American Heritage and my sister’s boyfriend brewed a special beer for the day, “Hoppin Down the Aisle”.

Finally, we decided to say our own vows…we were both so nervous but this was hand-down the best moment of the day!

Also, I was a very budget savvy bride, we had a 10K budget and we stuck to it. We had to compromise on some things but with a little research and tweaks here and there everything turned out just the way we pictured it.

Where did you get married?

We got married at The La Sala Courtyard in the San Juan Capistrano Library. San Juan Capistrano is in SoCal and is also home to the ruins of beautiful Spanish Mission. This is where we decided to do our “first look” pictures.
