1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

I’m proud that we were able to make a gorgeous venue that was way out of our price range work for us by having a daytime Saturday brunch wedding. It was a bonus that The Dorrance has beautiful giant windows and we lucked out with a bright sunny day.

The Dorrance in Providence, Rhode Island.

3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?

We knew from the beginning that a videographer was not in our budget but really wanted to capture some of the day in video. When I came across WeddingMix online it seemed like the perfect fit. We knew there were several friends and family members who would be on their phones taking pictures anyway and with WeddingMix we’d have a way to capture that video. 5. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?

Figure out what is most important to you and then find a way to make that fit into your budget. After seeing many venues we knew we couldn’t afford the type of venue we wanted for a Saturday evening, so we started looking at daytime events. We could have also switched to a Friday night or Sunday event but we wanted to stick with a Saturday. It’s also important to think about the day from the point of view of your guests. In planning the food, drinks, and timeline I was always trying to keep my guests in mind and make sure they had a fun day as well.
