1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

Before my wedding, I made a massive timeline for the weekend. It included minute-by-minute details of where everyone needed to be and when. I sent it to family, the bridal party, and some vendors. I’m not sure if it helped anyone else 🙂 but it certainly helped me feel calm and confident that everyone had what they needed on the day of so I could just relax and enjoy the getting-ready process with my bridesmaids.

2. Where did you get married?

We had a rehearsal dinner on the deck at the Hyannis Yacht Club in Hyannis, MA. Our wedding mass was held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Centerville, MA. An evening reception followed at the Wianno Club in Osterville, MA.

3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?

Video wasn’t a huge priority for us from the get-go… but after going to a friend’s wedding a few weeks before ours, we realized how cool it would be to have those big moments captured candidly. It also isn’t as invasive as a videographer. Since it was just my best friends filming me, I found that I was able to be myself and I wasn’t putting on a show for anyone. I felt extremely comfortable and I think that shows in the videos.

4. What were the most important moments that WeddingMix was able to capture on your special day?

The speeches! We heard so many incredible, heartfelt speeches from family and friends at the rehearsal dinner and reception. These are videos we will treasure for the rest of our lives. There were also so many moments that we didn’t get to see — people filing into the church, walking into the reception… It was cool to see a guest’s perspective. Our favorite video, by far, is our first dance! We took dancing lessons and had a choreographed routine… so it was awesome see it all come together and relive how much fun we had doing it.

6. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?

Define what your “must haves” are and the things you aren’t willing to compromise on. Cut corners on things you don’t deem important. Use Etsy or other small shops for paper goods like escort cards and menus! Those things can really add up 🙂 You WILL go over budget, so when you have your initial conversations, you should plan to go over budget knowing that things will come up that you don’t expect.
